Clinton Subarea Plan

Background

Clinton is designated as a Local Area of More Intensive Rural Development (LAMIRD), sometimes also referred to as a RAID, under the Growth Management Act (GMA). Island County is developing a subarea plan for the Clinton community; these plans are a method for cities and counties to analyze and plan for the needs of a more focused area.

As the southern gateway to Whidbey Island, Clinton is a pivotal transportation node in the area. Through the subarea planning process, residents, stakeholders, and County staff will work together to determine potential future residential and commercial growth options and establish a vision for the community.
