Island County Commissioner Janet St. Clair (D-Camano Island) sent the following announcement to constituents on Mar. 15, 2023.
Join Commissioner St. Clair for a District 3 – IN-PERSON Town Hall
North Whidbey Fire Station 22 (3440 Taylor Rd., Oak Harbor)
Tuesday, March 28 at 4:00 p.m.
This in-person Town Hall will be an open format with the Commissioner sharing updates for 2023 from the county work plans including policy changes and hot topics for the first part of this year.
Commissioner St. Clair will be joined by special guest Island Transit Executive Director Todd Morrow to talk about significant plans for transit in Island County. Island Transit finalized a Zero Emissions Fleet Plan and it is available to the public.
The topics will include brief updates on the following:
- Public Works Updates: Flooding response and preparedness-State grant; Speed Limit Plan
- Planning & Community Development – Passage of wetland and forest protections; Code Compliance.
- Health & Human Services: Recovery Navigators, Public Health Outreach, and Veterans
- Federal Funding Projects – ARPA Affordable Housing Investments, Congressional Designated Funding Request for Transportation
- Public generated concerns – Animal Control and Fireworks
As usual, a question & answer period will follow the presentations.
