The City of Langley posted this in the news section of their website on Fri., Apr. 11, 2025.
The official groundbreaking ceremony for the Langley Infrastructure Project took place on April 10th. This celebration was a moment to stop, reflect and appreciate the community effort that has gone into this project. It also gave us the opportunity to look forward to what is yet to come. Over the next nine months, construction will take place in eight of Langley’s roadways and complete fifteen utility capital improvement projects. The surfaces and the infrastructure below will be forever changed.
LIP PROJECT UPDATE – WHAT TO EXPECT THE WEEK OF April 14th:
You will notice an increased contractor presence this week as more crews and bigger equipment move in. Traffic Control personnel will be onsite and some roadways may be detoured. Earthwork Solutions LLC will be doing their best to keep roadways open to local traffic, but you will experience disruption in your travel.
This work continues throughout the week and throughout town:
- Mobilization
- Tree protection and temporary erosion control measure installation
- Preparation of the storage yard continues
- Project surveying
- Potholing underground utilities
Asphalt Grinding
This process also known as milling or planing, involves removing the top layer of existing asphalt pavement. This process is used to prepare roads for repaving, address surface imperfections, and improve drainage. Having the surface layer removed will help in maintaining an even surface during the project.
- Beginning the week
- Edgecliff Ave (Camano to Furman)
- Furman Ave (Edgecliff to Sandy Point)
- Decker Ave (Edgecliff to Sandy Point early in the week
- Ending the week
- 6th Street (Park Ave to the east)
- Al Anderson
Due to the nature of construction, these schedules are subject to change without notice.
