Last month’s storms impacted so many in our community, but I’m proud that we were able minimize the impacts of the historic flooding in Mount Vernon because local, county, state and federal officials worked together to construct the Downtown Mount Vernon Flood Wall in 2019. The state contributed over $13 million to the project, which saved many businesses and residents from flooding last month. Here is a quick update from Mount Vernon.
