Last year we discussed a B&O tax. While it was primarily for police, there was also in the language being proposed that it could be used for other items. Multiple options were discussed with one of them concentrating on businesses that grossed over 1 million. After some debate, the city decided to hold off.

Currently it is being brought up again with funds going towards the marina, and targeting businesses that gross more than 5 million (currently affecting 27 businesses in the city). If you would like more details, the city is putting on virtual informational seminar, with the option to ask questions at the end.
