The Crab Cracker ran these notices in the Community Information section of their Oct. 7-20, 2022 issue.
CANDIDATE FORUMS 2022
The League of Women Voters of Whidbey Island will host two virtual Candidates’ Forums in October. The events will be co-sponsored by Sno Isle Libraries. The first forum will take place on October 18, beginning at 6:00 p.m. It will feature the candidates for contested (two candidates) county offices: Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Sheriff, and Treasurer. The second forum will take place on October 20, beginning at 6:00 p.m. It will feature candidates for Legislative District 10, Positions 1 and 2, and County Commissioner, District 3. These are important voter information events and the public is invited to attend. The Zoom links for the forums will be posted one day ahead on the League’s website: www.lwvwhidbey.org. Both events will also be recorded and posted on the League’s website.
ELECTION DAY
is November 8, 2022. Voters’ ballots will be in the mail by October 21, 2022. The League of Women Voters encourages all eligible voters to participate in elections by completing their ballots and returning them on or before November 8.
[Ed. Note: We believe voters viewing candidate forums should be informed about the political stances of organizations hosting the forums.
The League of Women Voters of Whidbey Island has not endorsed any candidates, but does take positions on issues. You can see these positions on their website, and on the League of Women Voters of Washington State website. In addition, we posted each of the League’s Washington State legislative newsletters during the last legislative session.]
