The City of Oak Harbor has released the agenda and meeting packet for the Jan. 5, 2021 City Council meeting. The meeting will be held virtually, and may be viewed via YouTube. Recordings of the meeting are broadcast on Comcast channel 10. (See the city’s website for details.)
The meeting will include public hearings on three items:
- Resolution 21-01: declaring two garbage trucks to be surplus property to be sold. The trucks have already been replaced. Proceeds from the sale will be returned to the appropriate utility fund.
- Ordinance 1914: Zoning Code revisions for the Central Business District (CBD). The CBD has been under a moratorium for new project permit applications since August 2019; this moratorium would be repealed as part of this ordinance.
- Ordinance 1919: Adopts 2020 Comprehensive Plan Amendments. The amendments include changing the zoning of a 75-acre parcel on Gun Club Road from Industrial to Public Facilities, for use as a future community park; and the updated of the Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) for the period 2021-2026.
The meeting will also feature a vote on Resolution 21-02, in which the city council will endorse the passing of a levy by the Oak Harbor School District. The four-year levy will be on the ballot in February 2021, with a rate of $2.28 per $1000 of assessed value.
The city council holds its regular meetings at 6:00 PM on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
