The Oak Harbor City Council posted the agenda and meeting packet for their Jul. 12, 2022 meeting. Key items from the agenda are listed below. The meeting will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 865 SE Barrington St, Oak Harbor, WA 98277. The meeting can be streamed via the city’s YouTube channel.

  • A presentation on the Economic Development Council (EDC) for Island County by Executive Director Sharon Sappington followed by a vote on a professional services contract with the EDC.
  • A public hearing on proposed Ordinance 1953 on Residential Density Standards (implements several measures to increase housing unit density per acre in the residential zones) followed by a vote on the ordinance.
  • A public hearing on proposed Ordinance 1955 on the Crosby Villa Rezone changing the zoning on one parcel located on NW Crosby Ave from R-2 (Limited Multiple-Family Residential) to R-3 (Multiple Family Residential), followed by a vote on the ordinance. Rezoning the parcel will allow the construction of a 60-unit apartment building on the site. Existing zoning would limit the development to 47 units.
  • A public hearing on proposed Ordinance 1954 amending the 2021-2022 biennial budget with an updated wage and salary schedule.
  • Two resolutions to approve measures to be put on the November 2022 ballot for the public safety fire levy lid lift and public safety fire excess levy to build and staff a new fire station in the southwest part of the city.
