Oak Harbor Public Schools Levy Renewal Information

Propositions [sic] No. 1 – Renewal of Educational Programs and Operations Levy

Oak Harbor Public Schools has an important election coming up on February 11. Voters will soon receive a ballot in the mail to consider renewing the Oak Harbor Public Schools current levy.  Approximately 12 percent of Oak Harbor Public School’s budget comes from the levy to fund the following programs and services:

  • Health Services: Full-time school nurses and mental health counselors
  • Academic Support: Smaller class sizes and paraeducator support
  • Student Activities: Athletics, clubs, intramurals, visual and performing arts
  • Technology: School safety enhancements, Chromebooks, classroom technology and curriculum software

This renewal levy is not a new tax.  The current levy will expire at the end of the 2025 and will need to be approved by a simple majority to maintain funding to support programs and services.
