Here is the recap from the May 24, 2023 City Council Workshop. 

Mayor Pro Tempore Hizon presided over the meeting at the request of Mayor Severns. To expedite the progress of the meeting, Mayor Pro Tempore Hizon moved the presentation from Parks and Recreation after the Development Services – Multi-Family Tax Exemption Program presentation.

Multi-Family Tax Exemption Program Presentation

Development Services Director David Kuhl introduced Anthony Hemstad and Cheryl Swab from Hemstad Consulting to introduce the Muli-Family Tax Exemption Program (MFTE).  

PARKS AND RECREATION

Parks and Recreation Staffing Support

Parks and Recreation Director Brian Smith presented a proposal for restructuring Parks and Recreation Department staffing. 

DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Active Transportation Plan Update

Principal Planner Rajesh “Cac” Kamak presented an update on the public input process and the next steps in the Active Transportation Plan (ATP).

City Administrator’s Report

City Administrator Oborn presented an expedited version of the City Administrator’s Report. 

Interviews of Short-Listed Applicants for City Council Position 4

Council conducted individual interviews in the order of applications received:  John Chaszar, Barbara Armes, Wismine D’Avilar, and Christopher Wiegenstein. Council selected Christopher Wiegenstein as the new City Councilmember to fill the Council Position 4 vacancy.
