On January 9, 2025, our nation will observe a day of mourning in honor of the life and legacy of President Jimmy Carter. President Carter’s dedication to public service, humanitarian efforts, and commitment to education have left a lasting impact on our country and the world.
While the National Day of Mourning impacts federal offices and departments, our schools will remain open and operate on a normal schedule on January 9. Our schools will be honoring the 39th President of the United States by lowering flags to half-staff through January 28, as directed by President Joe Biden.
