On September 23, 2024, at approximately 9:50AM, a South Whidbey High School student informed school staff of a Snapchat post threating the school on September 24, 2024. A few minutes after being made aware of the post, staff contacted the Sheriff’s Office. An investigation into the origin of the post was started and necessary precautions were put in place to assure the safety of the students and staff.

On September 23, 2024, at approximately 3:40PM the Sheriff’s Office was contacted about another threat against the school, this time posted on the social media app TikTok. An investigation has been started into the origin of that post as well. This is an ongoing investigation and additional information will be released as it becomes available. Questions regarding school schedules and activities should be directed to the South Whidbey School District.
