Our annual youth sports clinic returns this month to celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day
We are proud to once again host our annual, free sports clinic from 12-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Stanwood High School, celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports Day.
This popular event brings elementary students, SHS coaches, and student-athletes together each year for an afternoon focused on confidence, teamwork, and the joy of sports. Tuesday, Jan. 27, is a no-school day for students due to a teacher in-service, making it a great opportunity for elementary students to take part in this popular annual event.
Open to students in grades 3-6, the clinic is designed for all skill levels — no prior experience is needed, and everyone is welcome.
Participants rotate through a variety of sport stations led by Stanwood High School coaches and athletes. Sports expected this year include (subject to change):
How to participate
National Girls & Women in Sports Day, led by the Women’s Sports Foundation, highlights the positive, lifelong impact of sports participation and the importance of expanding opportunities for girls and women in athletics.
We’re excited to welcome families back for another great year of this tradition and to continue celebrating the power of sports in our community.
