State Senator Ron Muzzall (R-Oak Harbor)

In the 2023-24 term, State Senator Ron Muzzall (R-Oak Harbor) represents Republicans on four Senate committees. He is the ranking member on the Agriculture, Water, Natural Resources & Parks committee, the Assistant Ranking Member of the Health & Long Term Care committee, and is a member of both the Rules committee and the Ways & Means committee. He is also the Vice Chair of the Republican Caucus.

Feb. 26, 2023: Last Friday, Feb. 24, was the Fiscal Committee Cutoff, the deadline for the House’s fiscal committees, the Senate’s Ways & Means committee, and the Transportation committees in both houses to report out their bills. Any bills that did not make it out of committee by the end of the day on Friday are effectively dead until next year.

Each house of the legislature now turns its attention to passing those bills that did make it out of committee before the next deadline: the House of Origin Cutoff at 5:00 PM on Wed., Mar. 8. No Senate committee meetings are scheduled until after that cutoff.
