OAK HARBOR: Mayor Wright’s comments from the Pathways to Stability meeting

I know there’s frustration out there. I hear the negativity. I know some people think “nothing’s being done.” But I want you to know that we are doing the work….thank you to those who are volunteering their time to be on this task force.

What we’re doing is not flashy, it’s not fast, and it doesn’t fit into a social media post or a 60-minute TV episode. Real change takes time. It requires persistence, partnership, and patience. So thank you for your patience.

The City and Task Force do not have to hold public meetings like this one, but we are choosing to, because we believe you deserve to hear updates directly from us, not through rumors or assumptions. We’re serious about doing something, not just talking about it. We are not hiding from the hard stuff. We’re right here in front of you, answering your questions, openly…..” – Mayor [Ronnie] Wright‘s opening comments from the Pathways to Stability Task Force Public Meeting this week.

#ThisIsOakHarbor

Thank you to those who helped coordinate this public meeting & those whose attended and asked great questions. We especially want to thank Commissioner [Jill] Johnson, Chief [Tony] Slowik, and Michelle Hines (SPIN Cafe), for being onsite and answering the tough questions. Thank you Task Force for all the behind the scenes efforts.
