South Whidbey Schools’ student board representative, Carter McKnight, and board director, Brook Willeford, participated in a panel discussion on empowering student voice through effective student board representation during the main session at the Washington State School Directors’ Association annual conference. This conference is the largest gathering of education policymakers in the state, and creates a unique opportunity for school directors to spend a few days learning from peers and other educational experts, and for board-superintendent teams to strengthen their own connections.
