Exciting Field Trip for Ms. Maddux’s Middle School Students: STEM Adventure at iFly!

On Friday, March 21, Ms. Maddux’s middle school students embarked on an unforgettable STEM field trip to iFly in Tukwila, where the spirit of adventure soared to new heights! Students were thrilled to experience the exhilarating sensation of indoor skydiving in a state-of-the-art wind tunnel, guided by skilled instructors who ensured a safe and unforgettable experience for everyone.

Not only did students get to feel the rush of “flying,” but they also engaged in an interactive lab that delved into the science behind parachutes and the dynamic forces that make them work. This hands-on experience brought math and science to life, showcasing the practical applications of these subjects in ways they had never imagined before.

The trip was thoughtfully designed to inspire students about future STEM careers that often go unnoticed, encouraging them to think outside the box. One of the standout features of the day was the inclusive environment at iFly, where all students were able to fully participate, regardless of any disabilities.

From the thrilling flights to the engaging science lessons, this field trip not only sparked excitement but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and possibility among the students. It was an extraordinary day that left everyone buzzing with inspiration and a little bit of envy for those who missed out! A special thank you to the South Whidbey School Foundation for your support!
