All of our fifth-grade students from each elementary school had the incredible opportunity to attend a special field trip on Thursday to experience the Skagit Symphony at McIntyre Hall at Skagit Valley College.
The students enjoyed a performance of “The Composer is Dead,” a lively and educational piece that introduces the orchestra in a fun, mystery-filled format.
This enriching experience gave our students a chance to see professional musicians in action and deepen their appreciation for the arts. Thank you for hosting us for an unforgettable day of culture, learning, and beautiful music.
But wait, there’s more music!
The Stanwood High School Chamber Music Concert is Monday, Jan. 27, in the SHS Performing Arts Center. Spartan Band students will perform as small ensembles and soloists, featuring woodwind, brass, and percussion performances.
Many of these talented musicians are preparing for the 2025 Mount Pilchuck Music Educators’ Association’s Solo and Ensemble Festival in February. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7 p.m. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to support our high school musicians!
