February is Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month — and we’re celebrating all that Stanwood High and Lincoln Hill High has to offer!
CTE Month highlights the value of Career & Technical Education and its impact on students, schools, and communities. We take pride in our robust CTE programs, which give students real-world experience, industry-relevant skills, and pathways to high-demand careers.
Did you know? Students can choose CTE as a pathway to graduation, which prepares them for both college and the workforce. Many of our courses provide college credit at no cost, meaning students can get a head start on their futures while still in high school!
In our district, CTE isn’t just about career prep — it’s about equipping students with skills for life. Our students have opportunities to gain skills in a wide array of areas, including:
Financial literacy education — budgeting, credit, investing, and more from our Personal Finance classes
Hands-on experience — with state-of-the-art technologies, techniques, and equipment
Career exploration — skill-building for high-wage, in-demand industries, and opportunities to compete in local, state, and national skill competitions
CTE month is an opportunity to shine a light on the incredible achievements of our students, educators, and programs. Whether it’s in personal finance, fire sciences, agriculture, culinary arts, engineering, business, or the many more opportunities we offer, our students are gaining the knowledge and experience they need to thrive.
