Twin City Elementary first graders had an exciting adventure Wednesday, turning Church Creek Park into an outdoor classroom!
As part of a nature scavenger hunt, students explored the park, searching for hidden clues they could trade for glass gems — tying into Northwest Glass Quest, celebrating local artists and its popular Kind Quester program (https://www.northwestglassquest.com/kind-quester)
This hands-on experience encouraged curiosity, problem-solving, and an appreciation for both nature and the arts!
In addition to the scavenger hunt, students walked to the park as a way to wrap up the Kids Heart Challenge, promoting heart health and the benefits of staying active. Getting outside and moving not only reinforced their learning but also gave them a chance to experience the community beyond the classroom.
A huge thank you to the Stanwood Police Department for ensuring a safe crossing at Highway 532, allowing our group of 100 students, staff and volunteers to walk safely to and from the park. Your support made this memorable day possible!
