Books, bikes … and a bit of brass! Our elementary students had it all during this year’s Read Across America celebrations!

Thanks to the generous support of the Camanio Masonic Lodge 19, students at all five of our elementary schools had the chance to turn pages into pedals. The longtime program rewards young readers with brand-new bikes, donated by local Masons, as a way to help keep kids engaged in reading.

Assemblies were full of energy and imagination — including at Twin City Elementary, where the Port Susan Middle School jazz band provided a soundtrack for the celebration!

Students also got creative with bookmark designs and voting on their favorite books.
