Please meet another of our new hires, Tanner Copeland. He graduated from the fire academy in December.
He shared a few throughs about why he decided to join Camano Fire:
“I was recently hired as an Entry-level Firefighter with Camano Island Fire and Rescue. I’m a dedicated and driven firefighter with a strong foundation in service, honed through years of experience as a veteran and first responder. Drawing on a deep commitment to public safety and community well-being, I bring a unique perspective and skill set to Camano Island Fire and Rescue.
While serving in the Navy, my family and I moved to Camano Island where we bought our first home and settled in with the local community. I was drawn to Camano Island Fire and Rescue for multiple reasons. Their involvement and relationships with the community and its members shows how much they care for Camano Islanders. I also had a firsthand experience with the fire department when a family member had a medical emergency, and we needed their services. Their quick response and professionalism during that difficult time left a lasting impression on me.
Now transitioning into the fire service, I am eager to apply my diverse background to saving lives and protecting communities. With a passion for continuous learning and a strong work ethic, I am committed to growing as a firefighter and contributing to the safety of my community.”
