Camano Island Fire and Rescue District posted this to his Facebook page on .
Please welcome one of our newest full-time firefighters, John Evans. John graduated from fire academy in December.
Here’s what he had to say about joining Camano Fire:
“I began my fire service journey in 2015 in high school, where I took my first fire service class at the Sno-Isle Skills Center. From there on, I was hooked. I was drawn to Camano for many reasons, I grew up coming out to the island fishing and crabbing.
When I was little, my dad was stranded on a sand bar in the middle of winter while coming back from crabbing. Seeing the men and women help him has always stuck with me. I knew that Camano was where I wanted to work.
I was part time at Camano for 2 and a half years before becoming a career firefighter here. It has been one of the best experiences I’ve had and I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve the community of Camano Island.”
Welcome, FF Evans!
