City of Oak Harbor Welcomes Travis Anderson as New Fire Chief
Oak Harbor, WA– The City of Oak Harbor names Travis Anderson as its new Fire Chief. With over 27 years in fire service, Chief Anderson brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to community safety to the Oak Harbor community.
Chief Anderson’s dedication to firefighting and emergency services began over two decades ago, where he served in various capacities within the North Las Vegas Fire Department. His leadership journey culminated in his recent role as Executive Chief Officer, overseeing critical operations and strategic initiatives.
Chief Anderson’s professional achievements extend beyond North Las Vegas. He has served as a task force leader for NV-TF1, a FEMA team that responds to disasters nationwide. Additionally, Chief Anderson contributes to the field of emergency services education as an adjunct professor at Columbia Southern University.
Educationally, Chief Anderson holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and is recognized with the Chief Fire Officer designation by the Center of Public Safety Excellence. His advanced training includes completion of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program, the National Emergency Management Advanced Academy, and executive education in leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
“We are excited about the leadership experience and energy that Travis is bringing to the department and City. He will be an asset to our community,” said Mayor Wright.
Chief Anderson assumes leadership at a pivotal moment for the Oak Harbor Fire Department, committed to continuing its legacy of excellence in service to the Oak Harbor community.
