More than 200 Stanwood High students stepped into their first professional interview this week — and many walked out more confident, prepared, and future-focused.

Over the past year, we asked recent graduates what would have made them even better prepared them for life after high school. Their message: Even more real-world career experiences.

We listened — and we acted.

Across our schools, we’ve strengthened career preparedness and future-planning opportunities, expanding ways for students to explore pathways, build professional skills, and connect classroom learning to life beyond graduation.

One powerful example was Thursday’s second annual Mock Interview Day. Thanks to incredible community support, about 75 percent of participating students were matched with professionals in fields aligned to their interests — from healthcare and trades to education, business, and more!

Students participated in structured interviews, received immediate feedback, and gained firsthand insight into employer expectations. For many, it was their first professional interview — and a meaningful step toward becoming future-ready graduates.

We are grateful to the volunteers who invested their time and expertise, and to the students who showed up ready to grow.
