RETIRED Assistant Chief Helgeland attended his final board of fire commissioners’ meeting last night.
Chief Yengoyan presented Craig with a decorative Speaking Trumpet in honor of his 34 years of service to the department (and his love of fire department history).
The concept of the speaking trumpet dates back to the pre-radio days when fire engineers and officers needed to amplify their voices to coordinate the response on a fire or emergency scene.
