Greetings Friends,
It’s hard to believe that the summer has flown by. I’ve been busy back on the family farm and juggling a variety of legislative committees, task forces and community meetings. A few time-sensitive opportunities to sound off have come up that I wanted to share with you. If you’re so inclined, your feedback would be helpful as our state considers ways to serve our communities.
Our COVID Response
First, the state Legislature is asking various state agencies involved in the COVID-19 response for an after-action report on how it was handled. The state Department of Health and the Washington Emergency Management Division are looking for your input at various meetings. They are also running a survey, which will take perhaps 20 minutes to complete if you have the time. You can take the survey by clicking here.
Transportation in the District
The state Transportation Commission holds 11 meetings throughout the year. While a majority are in Olympia, they are coming to our neck of the woods in mid-November. Please mark your calendar for November 15-16 and visit the Commission’s website for more details – scroll down to the November meetings. This will likely be a hybrid event with a virtual option on Zoom and an in-person option at Anacortes City Hall. In addition to this general meeting, the Transportation Commission is seeking input from ferry riders. Our district is very dependent on the ferry system and it’s no secret there are some significant challenges. You can provide your input by clicking here to take the survey.
