Scholarships available for Camano Island youth sports and activities
The Stanwood-Camano School District posted this on its website on 2025-11-11 16:00:00.

Island County’s Healthy Island Youth Initiative (HIYI) offers scholarships to help families cover the cost of organized youth activities. The program is open to all Island County residents up to age 19 who qualify for Free or Reduced-Price School Meals.
HIYI scholarships can be used for a wide range of enrichment opportunities — from youth sports and physical activity classes to music lessons, art classes, and other community programs that support health, creativity, and connection. Awards can cover registration fees, equipment costs, and other related expenses that might otherwise prevent participation.
Families living on Camano Island are encouraged to check their eligibility and apply if they qualify. School counselors can also refer families directly to the HIYI program for assistance.
To learn more or complete an application, visit the Healthy Island Youth Initiative webpage through Island County Public Health.
