Seattle Mariners broadcaster Rick Rizzs, Nancy Henderson, and Trent Henderson were at Stanwood High School on Friday to surprise senior Rosie Johnson as a recipient of a $5,000 Dave Henderson Education College Scholarship.
Rosie is one of 15 recipients from across the state to win the The Dave “Hendu” Henderson Education Scholarship — also known as Toys for Kids Scholarship Program. Rosie applied by writing an essay on “How does continuing your education make you smile every day?”
The Dave Henderson Education Scholarship supports those who are dedicated to their academic goals. They said they hope this scholarship can inspire its recipients to continue to strive for excellence and to make positive impacts in their communities.
