Yet another June in Langley will go by without a Whidbey Queer Pride Parade.
According to Mayor Scott Chaplin, at least one organizer of the event in the past has moved out of the area and others have turned their focus to other endeavors.
The city has not had a parade celebrating gay pride since 2018.
They Said It
“It would be nice to maybe have something next year where we have a parade,” [Mayor Scott] Chaplin said. “No one seemed to want to do anything in Langley that I heard about.”
