South Whidbey School Board member Damian Greene is threatening to take legal action against United Student Leaders, USL, which is a local youth activist organization comprised mainly of South Whidbey High School students. The USL Facebook page contains a post that indirectly accuses Greene and his wife Maureen of being involved in the theft of a Black Lives Matter banner hung from a fence on South Whidbey High School property.

Annie Philp, one of USL’s founders said “we wanted community members to acknowledge how Maureen and Damian may have instigated what happened, because both have repeatedly called for the banners to be removed.” For the details, see Karina Andrew’s story in the South Whidbey Record.
