WHIDBEY NEWS-TIMES: The council adopted a nepotism policy limiting relatives of elected officials from chairing or serving on certain boards, aiming to curb perceived favoritism after controversy involving one volunteer chair.
CITY OF OAK HARBOR: In their Feb. 3, 2026 meeting, the City Council approved a change to the municipal code regarding nepotism on boards and advisory commissions and re-appointed members of the Parks and Recreation Commission.
