Langley City Councilman Thomas Gill wrote a letter to the editor opposing the conversion of the Harbor Inn in Freeland to “homeless housing.”
A large landslide occurred Saturday, 40 yards from a waterfront home located near Noblecliff Place. At least three large trees tumbled down a 100-foot cliff.
Due to a lack of quorum, city officials made the call to cancel Langley’s second council meeting of the month, which was slated for June 21.
There will be no Whidbey Pride Queer Parade for the third year running. The city has not had a parade celebrating gay pride since 2018.
The city of Langley will observe Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, with a gathering on June 16 and a city holiday on June 20.
Unpermitted tree removal within the city of Langley is an issue for the city council, who want steeper fines for offenders.
