CAMANO ISLAND FIRE & RESCUE DISTRICT: Fire Commissioner Jan Treml tendered her resignation to the Camano Fire Board of Commissioners at its Feb. 10 regular meeting.
CAMANO ISLAND FIRE AND RESCUE: After 5 years leading the department, Chief Yengoyan is stepping down effective March 31.
Camano Island Fire & Rescue recently announced that after more than five years with the agency, Chief Levon Yengoyan is stepping down effective March 31, 2025.
CAMANO ISLAND FIRE & RESCUE DISTRICT: Camano Fire will send five more new hires to the Snohomish County Fire Training Academy this September – along with one department firefighter who will serve as an academy company officer.
Chief Yengoyan shared a brief update with the community about what’s next for the department in 2024.
Camano Island Fire & Rescue is currently operating with dwindling personnel, an unstaffed fire station and a whole lot of hope. The hope is to pass a fire levy lid lift on the upcoming Nov. 7 ballot, allowing Camano Fire to increase the amount of property taxes it collects.
