The City of Oak Harbor announced an open house on downtown and waterfront redevelopment, to be held on Feb. 27, 2025.
I’d encourage anyone to attend regardless if you are for or against redevelopment. Social media comments are a good start, but direct one on one feedback is invaluable.

WHIDBEY NEWS TIMES: When the Oak Harbor City Council approved the installation of the Angel of Creativity sculpture at Flintstone Park, planners began drafts to reconfigure the park to better suit the artwork. This included changes to or the complete removal of the roundabout driveway and possibly moving the Naval flagstaff to Veterans Memorial Park.
