WHIDBEY NEWS-TIMES: The former chairperson of the Island County Republican Party is now facing a felony charge in connection with his refusal to wear a mask in the county Elections Office last fall.

Island County announced Thursday, Jan. 9, the closure of a 21-year-old cold case investigation into the murder of Tamara “Tammy” Mattson, whose body was found at Camano Island State Park in December 2003.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, prosecutors and police are “confident they have identified the perpetrator.”
The Island County prosecutor and sheriff officially closed a 21-year-old murder case Thursday.
