CITY OF OAK HARBOR: The City Council’s Feb. 10 workshop included discussion of the new joint tourism promotion interlocal agreement, the need for pickleball courts within the City, and additions to the police department’s vehicle fleet.
CITY OF OAK HARBOR: In their Feb. 3, 2026 meeting, the City Council approved a change to the municipal code regarding nepotism on boards and advisory commissions and re-appointed members of the Parks and Recreation Commission.
CITY OF OAK HARBOR: The City Council’s Jan. 27 workshop featured re-appointments of volunteers to several of the City’s boards and advisory commissions, and discussion of a new ordinance adding a section on nepotism to the municipal code.
CITY OF OAK HARBOR: The City Council’s Jan. 20 meeting centered on a discussion of board and commission appointments and nepotism; and an ordinance relating to speed limits on SR20.
CITY OF OAK HARBOR: The City Council’s Jan. 6, 2026 meeting opened with the swearing-in of newly elected councilors. The council heard a presentation from the Oak Harbor Main Street Association, selected a Mayor Pro Tempore for 2026, passed a resolution for emergency repairs to the City’s marina, and approved two agreements and the purchase of motorcycles for the police department.
WHIDBEY NEWS-TIMES: Oak Harbor rejected annexing Valley High Mobile Home Park, keeping responsibility for its failing sewage system with the owners and county despite concerns for long‑time residents living with serious infrastructure problems.
CITY OF OAK HARBOR: The City Council’s Dec. 2, 2025 meeting centered on approving a mid‑biennial budget amendment, adopting a stay‑out‑of‑designated‑area (SODA) ordinance targeting drug‑related activity, and considering the Mangat annexation request.
