The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch through Dec. 12, with multiple wet weather systems expected to move through our area and bring periods of heavy rainfall.

Alongside our city, county, and emergency partners, we are actively monitoring conditions that could impact school operations. This includes ongoing checks of local roads used by our school buses, as well as routes commonly traveled by staff, students, and families.

As conditions change, we will communicate directly with families and staff if there are any impacts to transportation, schedules, or school operations.

In the meantime, a few important reminders, links, and tips for everyone in the coming days:

🔷 Sign up for emergency alerts direct from our counties. Snohomish County: https://bit.ly/4iCZYLg Island County: https://public.alertsense.com/SignUp/?regionid=1137
🔷 Bookmark Snohomish County DEM’s flood page for access to key resources including real-time river flood gauges: https://bit.ly/snocoflooding
🔷 Never drive through standing water. Turn around and find another route. Do not drive, walk or ride past road closure signs or barricades. They are in place for your safety.
