Today we recognize National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day.

Deputy Bud McCurry plays an important role in our schools each day — building positive relationships with students, supporting staff, and helping ensure our campuses remain safe and welcoming places to learn. From conversations in the hallway to classroom presentations and safety planning, his presence is felt across our district.

The School Resource Officer role is about more than enforcement. It’s about connection, trust, and partnership between schools and law enforcement — all centered on student well-being.

We’re grateful for Deputy McCurry’s steady commitment to our students, staff, and families.
