We now want to share an update on school-sponsored activities for tonight. Throughout the morning, district staff continued monitoring river levels, levee conditions, and the timing of the high tide while coordinating with our city and county partners. Conditions have remained stable, and we are not seeing additional impacts from this morning’s tide cycle, which is welcome news.

Because of that stability, the following scheduled school-sponsored events for this evening will proceed as planned, including:

— The Stanwood-Arlington boys basketball game at SHS
— Other scheduled Stanwood High athletic practices
— Saratoga School’s evening event

While schools were closed today out of an abundance of caution due to limited safe access to parts of the Stanwood area, those specific concerns do not affect this evening’s activities. We will continue monitoring conditions as river levels recede and will keep families informed if anything changes.
