Island County Commissioner candidate (and Island County Republican Party chair) Tim Hazelo (R-Oak Harbor) wrote a letter to the editor responding to an article profiling the candidates in the July 27 edition of the Whidbey News-Times. The letter was published in the Saturday, Jul. 30, 2022 edition of the Whidbey News-Times.

They Said It

Island County Commissioner candidate Tim Hazelo: It was probably my fault for not being more concise on my answer to Jessie’s question about keeping my current job onboard NAS Whidbey Island. Yes, my goal is to keep my job, but on a very limited basis. I would work a day, maybe two every few weeks to maintain positional currency and my security clearance… I will be your full time commissioner with all the hard work I am known for going to improving our county.
