Ballot drop box used in Island County elections

The results of the Aug. 2 primary are official.

A total of 31,793 ballots were cast in Island County, meaning there was a 52% voter turnout, according to the Washington Secretary of State’s website. There are 81,082 registered voters in Island County in total.

Note: In the report, Ms. Rosen reports vote totals for legislative, congressional, and statewide candidates, but fails to note that the percentages she reports reflect only the vote totals in Island County. 10th District legislative candidates also received votes in Skagit and Snohomish Counties. 2nd Congressional District candidates received votes in Island, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, and Whatcom Counties.
