Rachel Rosen reports:
The town of Coupeville is hosting a public workshop on the first draft of a comprehensive plan to address issues such as housing, land use, historic preservation and economic stability.
The workshop is taking place at 6 p.m. on Oct. 18 at the Coupeville Recreation Hall….
The 106-page draft of the plan is available to view at townofcoupeville.org/comprehensive-plan-update.
According to the Town of Coupeville’s website:
The 1990 Growth Management Act (GMA) provides the planning framework for counties, cities, and towns in the state. Island County and all the cities and towns within it are required to “fully plan” for expected population growth. Coupeville must update its comprehensive plan every 10 years.
