Yesterday I joined community residents to attend Rep. Clyde Shaver’s Town Hall. He spoke of the budget challenges in Olympia, his work for veterans, workers, clean energy and efforts to address the behavioral health crisis in our state. He also introduced possible solutions for the cabins at Cama Beach State Park that he is working on with Rep. Paul. There were lots of anxious questions about the impact of federal funding cuts to our communities. He spoke to hope and advocacy, working together for a better future.
I will be hosting a Town Hall April 24 at 4 pm, hopefully as a hybrid meeting but in-person at the Camano County office. Guests from health and human services will provide information on federal funding programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP and WIC.
