COUPEVILLE: Central Whidbey Candidate Forum [VIDEO] (LWV)
The League of Women Voters of Whidbey Island (LWVWI) live-streamed a candidate forum via YouTube on Fri., Oct. 20, 2023. The forum featured four segments:
- Coupeville Mayor. Candidates Molly Hughes and Meg Olson responded to six rounds of questions followed by closing statements.
- Coupeville School District. Candidates for two director positions handled six rounds of questions then gave closing statements. The candidates included: for Position 1, Charles Merwine (his opponent, Leann Leavitt, did not respond to the invitation); for Position 4, Alison Perera (her opponent, David Ford, was unable to attend due to required training in the Navy Reserve). The moderator read a statement from Mr. Ford.
- Port of Coupeville. Candidates for two commissioner positions were given four rounds of questions then gave closing statements. The candidates included: for District 1, Marianne Burr and Bradley Duncan; for District 3, Angela Ewert (her opponent, John Callahan, has dropped out and endorsed Ms. Ewert).
The forum was moderated by Merri Huffine and lasted approximately one hour and twenty minutes.
