COUPEVILLE: Letter: Candidate concedes with sadness (ANGELA EWERT/WNT)

Angela Ewert, who ran for Commissioner in district 3 of the Port of Coupeville, wrote a letter to the editor conceding the race to her opponent, John Callahan. The letter was published in the Sat., Dec. 2, 2023 edition of the Whidbey News-Times.

They Said It

In October, the current Commissioner, John Callahan, had relinquished his position in the race through this very media, endorsing me as his opponent. I was eager to serve the community of Whidbey as a fresh face.

…Mr. Callahan has still not directly told me what his plans are in terms of the position, I can only assume based on other’s conversations during public meetings that he has every intention to keep his position.

Shame on me for being eager to support my community and believing the publicly printed direct words of Mr. Callahan.
