The Port of Coupeville publishes an electronic newsletter for the community to stay updated on events, news, and projects at both the Coupeville Wharf and Greenbank Farm. Note: We reprint those portions of The Current pertinent to the activities of the Port Commission. For the full contents of the current edition of the newsletter, click this link.
Port Commissioner District 1 Position Open
The Port of Coupeville Board of Commissioners seeks candidates for the District 1 seat, which covers an area east and south of the town of Coupeville.
Commissioner David Day will not seek re-election. No one filed in the recent filing period, so the county will hold another filing period in coming weeks.
We encourage those interested in our local maritime and farm heritage to consider becoming a Port Commissioner!
Port Commissioner District 3 is also on the November ballot. Two candidates filed their intent to run: incumbent Commissioner John Callahan and newcomer Angela Ewert.
Candidates must live in the Greenbank area, which is the yellow section of the map. For questions and/or more information, please email executivedirector@portofcoupeville.org.

Coupeville Wharf Rehabilitation 2023
The major rehabilitation of the Coupeville Wharf continues. We’ll be reviewing two RFPs in early July, one for the Cap & Pile project, and one for new fuel tanks at the dock.
In addition to the recently completed work that replaced the Wharf roof, other improvements include:
- New water line
- New sewer line
- New sewage pump out for boaters
- Fiber optic internet run out to wharf shack
- In process of engineering options for a more efficient septic system
And as we’ve reported here previously, we’ll also be embarking on a seismic upgrade of the Wharf in the winter.
Thank you to our staff and contractors for their hard work and dedication to preserve and protect this historic building!
New Heaters in Greenbank Farm Barn
While we won’t need them for a while, the Port of Coupeville staff took advantage of the down time to install new state-of-the-art heaters in the event barn.
Our historic barn was built in 1904 and hosts many community events throughout the year. You can check the event calendar on the webpage, and we also preview events in the newsletter — see below.
The barn is available for rent, for more information please visit the link:
